ParkJockey Miami Says Goodbye to Club Mekka Lot

The Club Mekka lot served as a prime locus for Miami’s top events including Miami HEAT games, Winter Music Conference, Ultra, and other performances at AmericanAirlines Arena and BayFront Park. We are filled with woes that one of our favorite locations with extraordinary staff is closing down due to construction of the Miami World Center.

The construction for the Miami World Center is scheduled to start at the end of April, leaving us with only a few more events at our beloved Club Mekka parking location. ParkJockey’s frequenters of “Mekka” are not to fret, because we have already lined up excellent parking locations for future events in the area!

We would like to thank our affiliated parking operator at the Club Mekka location for making this location an enjoyable experience for our customers. And a big thanks to ParkJockey Mekka customers who have made this location a successful operation!

Art Basel Miami Madness

Every year the beginning of December marks the time when everyone’s mind gears toward the holidays – but not in Miami. The city goes into an “Art Basel” frenzy. As one of the largest international art fairs, Art Basel Miami, attracts 75,000+ visitors throughout the week. The explosive influx of world-renowned artists, pop culture celebrities, public figures, and affluent scions creates a glitzy, “cannot-miss” hype around the seven day event. This year’s pop icon appearances include: Miley Cyrus, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Usher, Joe Jonas, Kim Kardashian, Usain Bolt, A$AP Rocky, and even Paris Hilton who deejayed at Wall Miami.

Art Basel is the largest exhibition taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, however, the term is commonly used to describe the week long art fair, formally called Miami Art Week. The fair spans across Miami Beach, Midtown, the Design District, Wynwood, and beyond.

Just at the peak of Art Basel when the sidewalks were overflowing and road congestion was backed up for miles, a protest hit the streets which made driving a nightmare.  But the ParkJockey Team would not be slowed, and assisted drivers to find the most accessible parking locations.  Throughout the week ParkJockey taught visitors and locals alike how to master the art of parking during the chaos of it all.

The ParkJockey team wasn’t content simply solving Basel’s parking problems and was caught in the artistic vibes flowing through the city.  ParkJockey had an interactive Art Basel inspired painting activity in order to stimulate people’s inner artistic ability! Throughout the week ParkJockey customers and Art Basel visitors of all ages stopped to contribute to the Miami HEAT and ParkJockey mural. ParkJockey also handed out Miami HEAT t-shirts to those apart of the HEAT Nation family! At some point, a local artist got ahold of one of our t-shirts and turned it into his own artwork at a live demonstration in Wynwood!

White Hot Miami Heat advance to the NBA Finals

Dunk
Congratulations to the Miami Heat on their fourth straight NBA Finals appearance!  With the Heat’s convincing game six victory over the Indiana Pacers, the ParkJockey team is ready to root on the Heat as they take on the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals for the second straight year.

Last year’s Heat v. Spurs match-up was one of the most exciting in recent memory and this year’s is shaping up to be the same.  Heat fans know that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh will form the core of the Heat’s championship push, but in a post-season marked by so many different Heat line-ups, which role players will step up?  Will it be Norris Cole’s electric spark and tough nosed defense?  Will Ray Allen provide more clutch three-point shooting?  Or will Birdman’s athleticism in the paint be the key to a Miami Heat victory?  Regardless of who it is, Heat fans know that it will take a team effort to take down Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs.

The Heat is only the third franchise in NBA history to make it to the NBA Finals in four consecutive seasons and everyone is clamoring to get into American Airlines Arena to watch this historic team.  ParkJockey is proud and excited to provide its OneTouch Parking Solution to those lucky fans with tickets to the game at AAA.  Through ParkJockey, Heat fans can lock down their parking spots so that they can focus on whose white-hot jersey they should wear to the game, and not where they are going to park.  Use ParkJockey to reserve your parking now!
